Mohit Chawla, the fiery and senior IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh Police, will now serve on central deputation. He will take over as DIG in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The Union Home Ministry has issued orders in this regard. Currently, he is posted as DIG Cybercrime in Himachal Pradesh Police and during his tenure he achieved great achievements in control of cyber crimes and increasing recovery rates.
Mohit Chawla has the original relationship with Kullu district, although his family later settled in Ambala. Chawla, a 2010 batch IPS officer of Himachal cadre, studied graduation and postgraduate from Punjab University. Apart from this, he also passed examinations like UGC-NET and JRF. Despite being in service, he continued education and obtained certification in Postgraduate in Cyber Law from IGNOU, certificate in Human Resource Management from IIM Ahmedabad, research system from IIT Chennai and AI in HR from IIT Guwahati. He also received an honorary doctorate from IEC University to contribute to social service.
As DIG Cybercrime, Mohit Chawla increased the 3 percent cyber crime recovery rate to 28 percent. This achievement was appreciated across the country. He gave great leadership in several important positions including ASP Kangra, SP Mandi, SP Solan, SP Shimla, SSP Baddi.
Mohit Chawla has received great honors like Haryana Government’s talent honor for his services, twice DGP disc, three governor compensation and Army’s GOC-in-C Comland. In the Fame India-Asia Post Survey 2020, he was included in the 50 most popular police officers in the country
