A case of theft of an offering of money has come to light at Shri Naina Devi Temple in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. The allegations are against Dharampal, an employee of the temple trust, who has been arrested by the police.
According to the information, while counting the offering amount at 9 am on Wednesday, Dharampal kept 1500 rupees and 100 US dollars in his pocket. Temple employee Neelam Puri, who was keeping an eye on his actions, immediately informed the security guard, Pritam Singh. During his search, three notes of 500 rupees each and two Australian dollars of 50 rupees each were recovered from Dharampal.
After this incident, temple clerk Puneet Kumar lodged a complaint at Shri Naina Devi Ji Police Station, on the basis of which the police started action against the accused. This theft incident has also been captured in CCTV footage.
