Rashtriya Lok Adalat is being organized in all the courts of Himachal Pradesh state on 14th December under the guidance of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court and Acting Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. Online facility of payment of compounding fee through e.Pay (e-Court Digital Payment) in MV challan cases has also been provided in the Courts of Traffic Magistrate.
The public is being made aware about Rashtriya Lok Adalat through distribution of IEC material and through local body stakeholders, NGOs, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, para legal volunteers, public transport services etc. Around 62000 cases have so far been identified by various courts for disposal in the upcoming National Lok Adalat on 14th December. Regular meetings are being held with local bar associations, insurance companies, banks, financial institutions for effective identification of cases. Print and electronic media is always a major stakeholder in providing commendable services in spreading legal awareness among the public. District and Sessions Judge Ranjit Singh, Member Secretary, Legal Services Authority, has urged the concerned people to join Rashtriya Lok Adalat and come for settlement of their respective judicial cases
