New Delhi, March 26: Amid escalating tensions and war-like conditions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a high-level meeting with Chief Ministers of various states on March 27 via video conferencing.
The meeting aims to review the preparedness of states to handle any potential impact arising from the ongoing conflict and to strengthen coordination between the Centre and the states. Officials indicated that discussions will focus on adopting a unified “Team India” approach to tackle emerging challenges.
Key issues on the agenda are likely to include potential disruptions in supply chains, concerns over energy security, and ensuring the safety of Indian citizens residing in affected regions. The Centre is also expected to outline a coordinated strategy to mitigate any fallout from the crisis.
States currently undergoing Assembly elections will not participate in the meeting due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. However, a separate meeting of Chief Secretaries from those states will be conducted through the Cabinet Secretariat to ensure administrative preparedness without interfering with the electoral process.
Officials described the evolving West Asia situation as a global challenge, underlining that the Prime Minister’s initiative is crucial for ensuring national readiness and a coordinated response in case of any emergency.
