President Draupadi Murmu is coming to Himachal Pradesh next month. Though, the state government has been asked to prepare for her possible visit between 2nd and 12th May. She is also scheduled to visit IIT Mandi. She may also visit the Atal Tunnel. In Shimla, she may also visit the Raj Bhawan for a banquet hosted by the governor. President Draupadi Murmu will attend the 15 years of achievement function to be held on 6th and 7th May at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi. She has been invited as the chief guest to the function.
On Tuesday, Deputy Army Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and other senior officials from the Union Defense Ministry came to Shimla to prepare for the President’s visit. They also inspected the President’s residence, Chharabra. They also met the governor at the Raj Bhawan. Officials of the State Government’s Secretariat Administration Department were also specially present on this occasion. The state government has not yet received the final outline of her visit. Earlier, Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to IIT Mandi was scheduled as president, but he could not reach there due to bad weather. If everything goes well and the President visits, then this will be the first visit of any president to IIT.
There will be many types of sessions in the two-day event. These include data science, AI, quantum science technology, and others. Experts from India and abroad will participate in the event and provide guidance. During the event, technology and prototypes developed by IIT Mandi will also be showcased. Apart from the President, IIT Mandi Director Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Tata Electronics CEO Dr. Randhir Thakur, Anirban Bandyopadhyay from NIMS Japan, Dr. Vaibhav Kapoor, Shraddha Sharma, Prof. Ganpati and other eminent personalities will participate in the event.
On the other hand, IIT Mandi Registrar Dr. KS Pandey said that there is information about the president coming to IIT Mandi. He is not in the committee related to the event, so at the moment he cannot tell much.
