Shimla’s iconic Gaiety Theatre brought together 19 schools and their spirited teams for three vibrant days of rehearsal and artistic growth. Organizd and curated by Keekli Charitable Trust, Shimla, under the mentorship of distinguished seniors artists, Sriniwas Joshi, Bhupender Sharma, Jawahar Kaul, and Vivek Mohan and emerging Creative Directors, students immersed themselves in the nuances of stagecraft, dramatization, and emotional expression.
These rehearsal focused on foundational skills, energizing performers through their first dress rehearsals, while nurturing deeper creativity and technical finesse, thanks to workshops and masterful insights from veteran theatre personalities. Participants engaged with the technical magic and legacy of the Gothic Heritage Stage—mastering light, sound, spatial dynamics, and stage movement. This triad of experiences not only strengthened the students’ confidence but also fostered a community of learning, artistry, and collaboration, perfectly equipping them for the festival’s final showcase.
Prior to this three-day. dress rehearsal session the six creative directors, Shruti Rohta, Naresh K Mincha, Rupesh Bhimta, Neeraj Prashar, Sanjeev Arora and Hemant Attri, have been visiting these schools to take rehearsals and help the teams improve their adaptations and performances.
