Shimla
Rules for pollution testing of vehicles have changed in the transport department of Himachal Pradesh. Now instead of a webcam, a smartphone will be connected to the pollution check machine so that it can be ensured that the vehicle was actually brought to the center for pollution testing. Not only this, along with the photo of the pollution check center and the photo of the vehicle brought for testing, a video of 4 to 5 seconds will also be made.
Actually, version 2.0 of the pollution testing center in the Himachal Transport Department has been updated recently. Under this, the mobile camera will be geotagged with the pollution testing center. If the vehicle is parked outside the scope of the pollution testing center, then such a vehicle will not be able to be tested now. Hence, a pollution control certificate will also not be issued. This version has been upgraded in the entire state.
As far as Sirmaur district is concerned, RTO Sirmaur Sona Chauhan said that a total of 10 online pollution testing centers are registered here. According to the department, the fee for issuing pollution check certificates for various vehicles has also been increased from November 2024. Accordingly, the fee for petrol/CNG/LPG-driven two-wheelers has been fixed at Rs 100 (80 + 20 green tax), three-wheelers at Rs 120 (100 + 20 green tax), four-wheelers at Rs 130 (100 + 30 green tax), and diesel-powered vehicles at Rs 150 (110 + 40 green tax).
At the same time, RTO Sirmaur Sona Chauhan said, “Version 2.0 of pollution control software has been updated by NIC in the Transport Department, Himachal Pradesh. Therefore, now the pollution check of vehicles will be done through this updated version only.”
