15 stalls set up at the Swaad Mahotsav being organised from October 3 to 7
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Aniruddha Singh inaugurated the State Level Rural Taste Festival-2025 at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Shimla today.
He said that the main objective of this festival is to give national and international recognition to Himachali traditional cuisine and especially to promote millet-based nutritious products. The Cabinet Minister said that through this event, women in rural areas will get opportunities for self-employment and economic strengthening, which further strengthens the state government’s commitment to women empowerment.
The festival, being held from October 3 to 7, 2025, will feature 15 stalls from various development blocks of Shimla district. Of these, 13 stalls will focus on Himachali cuisine and two on millet-based products. Nutritious and local dishes prepared by self-help groups will be showcased and sold, allowing tourists and locals to experience the Himachali flavors.
On this occasion, many dignitaries including Mayor of Municipal Corporation Shimla Surendra Chauhan, Councillors Narendra Thakur and Kuldeep Thakur, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Divyanshu Singhal were present.
