A house can rebuild; a bridge you can restring; a washed-out road you can fill in. But there is nothing you can do about a tree but too mourn”
A forest too has a life and to save a life is our responsibility, with such a venerable thought, HP Forest Department has taken an initiative in form of “Forest Fire Prevention and Control Awareness Campaign 2020”. This campaign will undergo for 9 days in 64 forest sensitive enclaves. Under this campaign, chat shows, street plays, painting and slogan writing and exhibitions will be organise to create wider awareness among the people regarding the forest fires precautions and the measures to be adopted in case of major forest fire.
Creating awareness about the forest is what we needed, says Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while flagging off the Campaign. He says “plantation is not the matter but what measures are to be taken to protect it plays an important role”.
Jairam Thakur says, “I am contented that this awareness campaign has started in the year 2018 with two cars and now this year again the Forest department has taken initiative with seven cars to make aware people about the protection of forest from fire”.
