Focus on public participation, transparency and grassroots development, says Tomar

Political activity has intensified in Gram Panchayat Tonru-Danda-Aanj of the Aanjbhoj area following the entry of senior journalist and social worker GS Tomar into the Panchayat election fray for the post of Pradhan . Known for his long association with journalism and public issues, Tomar is now stepping directly into grassroots politics with a focus on public service and rural development.
A resident of village Tonru, GS Tomar has closely observed and understood the functioning of politics and administration in Himachal Pradesh during his journalism career. He has interviewed former Chief Ministers Virbhadra Singh, Prem Kumar Dhumal, Jai Ram Thakur and current Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, besides several Union Ministers, Governors and High Court judges.
Through journalism, Tomar consistently highlighted public grievances and social issues over the years. His entry into Panchayat politics is being viewed positively by many local residents, who believe that his clean image, administrative understanding and social commitment can contribute significantly to the development of the Panchayat.
Villagers feel that issues such as education, road connectivity, drinking water supply, sports facilities for youth and women empowerment could gain fresh momentum under experienced leadership.
Since announcing his candidature, Tomar has been actively meeting people across the Panchayat and describing holistic development as his top priority.
Speaking to residents, GS Tomar said that ensuring transparency, strengthening public participation and accelerating development works at the Panchayat level would remain his primary objectives.
The upcoming Panchayat election in Gram Panchayat Tonru-Danda-Aanj is now being seen as a closely watched contest, with growing public interest and expectations surrounding the electoral battle.
