The Yogananda Centre of Theology (YCT) in association with the School of Ancient Indian Wisdom and Yoga Sciences at Shoolini University, organised a session with Swami Krishanananda Giri, a senior monk of the Yogoda Satsanga Society (YSS) of India. Chancellor Professor PK Khosla and SILB president Mrs. Saroj Khola welcomed Swami Giri at the session.
In his address to the students and faculty, Swami Krishanananda Giri explored the connection between science and spirituality. He touched upon areas of scientific research that resonate with the practice of yoga, acknowledging that some may remain beyond the acceptance of scientists due to their intangible and spiritual nature. “Human values and ego awareness,” he emphasised and said “defy quantification by mathematics but can be measured, to some extent, with the right tools and mindset.”
Sri Lavesh Raikhy, a prominent figure in this field, elaborated on the scientific interpretation of aura and its seven layered energies. He stressed that positive thinking, ‘Om’ chanting, and regular deep meditation could expand one’s aura, enhancing spiritual well-being.
Swami Krishanananda Giri stirred the aspirations of the audience by invoking the legacy of distinguished scientists like CV Raman, Chandrashekhar, and V Shanta, who became luminaries in their respective fields through dedication and sacrifice. He encouraged students to grasp all the opportunities for fundamental, path-breaking research offered by Shoolini University.
Swami Krishanananda Giri also laid the foundation stone of the Yogananda Food Innovation Lab, located in the Department of Food Technology at Shoolini University. This symbolic gesture, in honour of Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, promises to be a centre of culinary ingenuity and innovation.
