The Shimla District Police have intensified their crackdown against drug trafficking by taking the main accused, Vijay Bihari alias David, into police remand in connection with an interstate chitta (heroin) supply network. The accused has been brought to Police Station Rampur on custody transfer (production warrant) for further investigation.
Case Details
An FIR No. 10/26 dated 07-02-2026 was registered at Police Station Rampur under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. During a naka (checkpoint), police recovered 9.26 grams of heroin (chitta) from two individuals traveling in a vehicle.
Arrested Accused:
Yugal Kishore (35), resident of Village Erli, Tehsil Nankhari, District Shimla
Naresh (23), resident of Village Shanan, District Shimla
Major Breakthrough in Investigation
During police remand, detailed interrogation, analysis of mobile CDR (Call Detail Records), bank transactions, and other technical evidence revealed that the accused had contacted Vijay Bihari alias David through WhatsApp calls to procure heroin.
Investigation further revealed that David was actively involved in interstate drug supply. He was already lodged in judicial custody in another NDPS case registered at Police Station Theog. After obtaining a production warrant from the Hon’ble Court, he has now been brought to Rampur for further interrogation.
Currently, Vijay Bihari alias David is on three-day police remand, and sustained questioning is underway to trace the broader supply chain and identify other links in the network.
