A 16-year-old schoolgirl was injured after being attacked with a knife by two unidentified youths in the Nankhari area of Shimla district, police said on Friday.
According to the complaint lodged at Nankhari Police Station, the incident occurred around 1 pm on March 6 near Government Senior Secondary School Khuni while the girl was heading towards Nittu Mor.
The accused allegedly stopped the girl on the way, assaulted her and attacked her with a knife, causing injuries to her left hand. The victim managed to escape from the spot and later informed the police.
Police have registered a case against the unidentified youths under Sections 126(2), 115(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and started an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused.
