On the first day of Shimla Summer Festival, Mahanati was organized on the theme of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan, in which about 150 women from Shimla Urban and Mashobra Project participated.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma and Additional District Magistrate Protocol Jyoti Rana were also present in the Maha Nati.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma said that the goal of Maha Nati in the Summer Festival is to promote women empowerment. Today women are making their mark in every field. The participation of women in the leading role in the economy of the country and the world is increasing. Mahila Mandals across the district are developing self-employment along with social work and earning economy at the doorstep.
District Program Officer Women and Child Development Mamta Paul said that women will participate in Maha Nati for five days during the Shimla Summer Festival.
Apart from this, the soldiers of Himachal Pradesh Police Brass Band also entertained the people with their melodious tunes.
