Under the direction of the Legal Aid Committee, the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University held a campaign at St. Lukes Senior Secondary School in Solan to raise awareness about the Prevention of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO).
The faculty coordinators of the committee, Ms. Poonam Pant and Mr. Vineet Kumar, hosted the event. Assistant Professor Ms. Poonam Pant gave a welcome speech, and she thanked Principal Sister Loveena Pinto for allowing the awareness campaign in the school.
Dhawni Goyal, Head Girl of St. Lukes Senior Secondary School, Solan, delivered a welcome speech for the Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University.
Mansha Goyal, student BA. LLB 3rd semester, presented a detailed overview on the POCSO Law by citing examples from day-to-day life.
Ms. Mukul Rani, Assistant Professor, informed students about how an offender faces a neurological and psychological disorder and how the court takes these factors into consideration during the trial of the offence.
Ms. Ishani Vaidya, Assistant Professor, hosted the POCSO Quiz Competition 2022 series. The students enthusiastically participated and won 10 exciting gift kits from Shoolini University.
Kanak Bhardwaj, student St. Luke’s School, delivered the concluding remarks on behalf of the school management.
Associate Dean, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Prof. Nandan Sharma assured that the Committee and the students will continue to provide free legal aid to the people as per the Legal Service Authority.
