Shimla: Continuing his tour, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania reached Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados, from London this morning . Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar and Legislative Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma are also present with him. It is noteworthy that Kuldeep Singh Pathania will participate in the 8-day 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference being held in the Barbados Parliament in Bridgetown from tomorrow . Representing India, Pathania will deliver his address on the topics selected for the conference. Pathania will address the conference in the Barbados Parliament on three topics.
Pathania said that Barbados is a tourist paradise in the Caribbean. It is a small but captivating island nation in the Caribbean Sea. The island is known worldwide for its blue sand beaches, pleasant climate , historical heritage, and cultural diversity. Tourism in Barbados offers not only the opportunity to enjoy natural beauty but also to immerse oneself in a unique cultural experience. The laid-back atmosphere , warm, welcoming locals, and diverse activities make it an ideal tourist destination.
Pathania stated that India and the Caribbean islands, including Barbados, share a deep cultural and sporting bond. Cricket between India and the West Indies is renowned worldwide. The West Indies national cricket team is selected from 15 Caribbean countries, and Barbados has always played a significant role in this. Today, we fondly remember the world’s greatest cricketers of all time, including Sir Garfield Sobers , Sir Gordon Greenidge , Desmond Haynes , Malcolm Marshall , Sir Clyde Walcott , Sir Everton Weekes, and Jason Holder, all hailing from the island of Barbados. Pathania stated that upon arriving in Bridgetown, the first thing he remembered were the local cricket players , the healthy environment, and the warm welcome accorded to guests by the people. Pathania will be present at the Barbados Parliament during the conference, which takes place from October 5th to 12th. Along with him, Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar and Legislative Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma will also attend the conference.
