Congress is celebrating putting the people of the state in trouble due to financial mismanagement!
BJP state spokesperson Chetan Bragta said that Himachal Pradesh is currently facing a serious financial crisis, which is the result of mismanagement and negligence of the Congress government.
The state government has exhausted the debt limit of ₹6,200 crore set for the financial year 2024-25 in just 9 months (April to December 2024). The situation is such that the government has now started the process of taking a new loan for the last quarter.
The state requires ₹2,000 crore every month for essential expenses like salaries and pensions. Even this month, government employees have received their salaries but retired employees have not yet received their pension. This situation of the state government not only reflects the economic crisis but also highlights the insensitivity of the government towards retired employees.
Bragta said that instead of focusing on the revenue generating sectors needed for development in Himachal Pradesh, such as tourism, industry, and horticulture, the Congress government, through its mismanagement, has made the state debt dependent.
The Chief Minister’s statement that salaries and pensions were delayed so that interest on loans could be saved proves how the Congress government is trying to hide its economic mismanagement.
Himachal Pradesh needs better governance and responsible economic policies. The wrong policies of the Congress government have not only burdened the state with debt but have also hurt the public trust.
Commenting on the celebration of completion of two years by Congress, Bragta said that Congress is celebrating the fact that they put the people of the state in trouble through financial mismanagement and pushed the state back by 20 years.
The Chief Minister of the state is continuously trying to mislead the people of Himachal Pradesh to hide his failures, whereas the Congress government should learn from its mistakes and take concrete steps to get the state out of this financial crisis.
