Hamirpur, July 30
Former Sujanpur MLA Rajendra Rana levelled serious allegations against Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and the Congress government and said that soon after the government came to power in Himachal Pradesh, the state came under the grip of natural disasters, corruption and chaos.
In a statement issued here today, Rajendra Rana said that the disasters that have occurred since 2023 have destroyed government and private properties worth crores of rupees, hundreds of families have been ruined, and many innocent people have lost their lives. Despite this, the Congress government, instead of distributing the amount of disaster relief fund to the needy, distributed it among its favorite workers in the Naidun assembly constituency. He said that this was a direct betrayal of the public trust and rubbing salt on the wounds of the victims.
The former MLA said that this year too, Mandi district was the worst hit by the disaster, but Chief Minister Sukhu did not even bother to wipe the tears of the victims. “The public is showing humanity by contributing billions of rupees to the relief fund, and the government is using it for its political gain. This shows the mentality of the Congress,” Rana alleged.
He said that the situation in the state has deteriorated so much that the Sukhu government has created an emergency-like situation to suppress democratic voices. “Anyone who questions the government’s failures is being sent to jail by filing an FIR against him. This is the same dictatorship that the country saw in the 1977 Emergency.
Rajendra Rana said that development work in the state has come to a complete standstill, disaster relief work has also come to a standstill and corruption is at its peak. He said, “Every citizen of Himachal is feeling harassed by this government today and the public is now praying to get rid of this destructive and dictatorial government as soon as possible.”
