Youth should be technically empowered: Rajesh Dharmani
Education has been strengthened under the present government: Rohit Thakur
On this occasion, Rajesh Dharmani extended his best wishes to everyone and stated that the construction of this building will benefit the students studying at ITI Jubbal and will further enhance the institute’s operations. It is noteworthy that this building was constructed using a special technology called “Pre-Engineering Building,” which provides safety, especially during disasters like earthquakes. Maximum steel is used in its construction, making it less harmful to the environment because it uses less sand, gravel, and cement. Furthermore, due to the use of fiber steel, such buildings are also cost-effective. The building was constructed within a stipulated timeframe of 18 months.
Rajesh Dharmani explained that the current Congress government assumed power in 2022 under adverse economic conditions. While the state inherited a fortune of ₹78,000 crore, the natural disasters of 2023 and 2025 caused losses worth thousands of crores. Despite this, the state government is continuously progressing under the strong leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He also noted that Himachal’s educational standards have improved significantly. While Himachal reached 21st place in 2021, it has now reached 5th place in the 2025 survey, a significant achievement. He congratulated the Education Minister for this achievement. The Technical Education Minister also stated that technology will dominate every field in the future. Various technologies are being used in horticulture and other fields. Therefore, young people must empower themselves technically so that they can keep pace with the world in the future. Rajesh Dharmani said that in order to make good use of the “CLC” building, important decisions will be taken in the coming time after discussing with the Education Minister.
Welcoming Rajesh Dharmani, the Education Minister expressed his special pleasure at his arrival in Jubbal. He also expressed his gratitude for his visit. He also stated that during the last three years of the current Congress government’s tenure, there has been unprecedented progress in the field of education. And with the support of the Technical Education Minister, there has been unprecedented development in the field of technical education. He further informed that there are currently three ITIs in Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai and an engineering college in Pragati Nagar, Kotkhai, where students from the local area and various parts of the state are receiving education.
The Engineering College, Gumma, is currently undergoing infrastructure enhancements at a cost of ₹104.2 crore (approximately $1.4 billion). Of this, work worth ₹31.4 crore (approximately $7.1 billion) has been completed, and work worth ₹7.1 crore (approximately $1.7 billion) is underway, and will be completed soon. Various buildings are being constructed as part of this initiative. Additionally, the institute has reinstated the “ECC” diploma program, which was discontinued in 2021 due to low student numbers. A course in “Electrical Vehicles” has been launched at ITI Gumma. Additionally, a “B.Tech. Civil Engineering” program has been launched this year, and a diploma in civil engineering will be introduced from the next academic session.
In August 2024, ITI Tikkar will be relocated to its own building, constructed at a cost of ₹5.87 crore (58.7 million rupees). A Computer Operator Programming Assistant (COPA) course has been launched. Additionally, a Solar Technician course has also been introduced at ITI Jubbal. He also stated that in Jubbal, students are being provided with sports facilities along with education. The Jubbal Sports Hostel has emerged as an important institution in this regard. The newly constructed building of this sports hostel has been dedicated to the public, and along with volleyball, training in kabaddi and badminton is now being provided there, providing national-level sports facilities to the students. Additionally, a large and important teacher training institute is being constructed at Dakad, near Jubbal, at a cost of ₹17 crore (170 million rupees).
