Shimla: Police in the Sanjauli area have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly attacking a 15-year-old schoolgirl with a stone while she was returning home.
The incident occurred on April 21, when the victim was on her way back from school in the afternoon. According to police, the accused suddenly assaulted her with a stone, causing injuries and leaving her collapsed on the spot. She was later taken for medical examination.
An FIR (No. 20/2026) has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with provisions of the POCSO Act.
The accused, identified as Akshay Thakur, a resident of Dhalli in Shimla, has been taken into custody. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
