THDC India Limited, a leading power sector company, is celebrating the Swachhata Hi Seva-2024 campaign from September 17 to October 2, 2024. This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s broader mission to promote cleanliness and hygiene, coinciding with the celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2. In this sequence, Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited informed that on 23rd September, 2024, THDC organized the “Safai Mitr Suraksha Shivir” under the theme “Swabhav Swachhta, Sanskar Swachhta” to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission. This camp aims to enhance the health and safety of sanitation workers and their families.
On this occasion, Sh. Vishnoi stressed the importance of Swachhata Abhiyan and said that cleanliness is not only a personal responsibility but is also essential for the well-being of the society. He inspired everyone to maintain cleanliness and move towards a healthy society.
The program was inaugurated by Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL. Sh. Singh highlighted the integral role of cleanliness in our lives. He acknowledged the crucial contributions of sanitation workers in maintaining a clean, beautiful, and healthy society. “Today’s health camp is a small yet meaningful step towards ensuring your health and well-being,” he remarked. “We prioritize the safety and health of you and your families, with specialized medical consultation and treatment provided by doctors from AIIMS and THDCIL.”
Under the “Safai Mitr Suraksha Shivir”, a multi-specialty health camp was organized for the health of sanitation workers, in which medical services were provided to them. Along with this, sanitation kits were also distributed. This effort was made by THDC India Limited in collaboration with specialist doctors of AIIMS, Rishikesh and regional health institutions. Dr. Vibha Chaudhary and Dr. Abhigyan Bahuguna from THDCIL, along with Dr. Rajat Sharma, Dr. John Mathew, and Dr. Kshitij Singla from AIIMS Rishikesh, checked the health status of the workers. A total of 104 individuals participated in the health screenings during the event.
During the occasion GM (S&E), Sh. Amardeep, OSD, Sh. Pradeep Naithani, OSD, Sh. Mahesh Chandra Ramola, Sr. Manager (S&E), Sh. Dharam Prakash, Manager Smt. Anamika Budakoti, Sh. Anuj Bisht, Smt. Jyotsana Jaguri etc were also present.
THDC India Limited has planned various activities under the Swachhata Hi Seva-2024 campaign, including cleanliness drives in collaboration with schools, colleges, and local organizations. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and inspire a collective movement toward a healthier society.
