Hamirpur, October 2
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, tributes were paid to both the great personalities across the district on Wednesday.
In a programme organised by the district administration and Nagar Parishad Hamirpur at Gandhi Chowk at 7 am, Chairman of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Kuldeep Singh Pathania, District Congress President Suman Bharti, ADM Rahul Chauhan, SDM Sanjit Thakur, Executive Officer of Nagar Parishad Ajmer Singh Thakur, officers and councillors of the council, officers and employees of various departments, officers of Congress Party and social organisations and other eminent citizens of the city paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. They also garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and remembered his invaluable contribution to the country.
