The two-day Annual Undergraduate Symposium at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) commenced on 22 April, showcasing the creativity and research potential of first-year B.Tech. engineering students. Conceptualized and organized by the office of Dean (Research and Internationalization – Prof. Sudhir Syal. The symposium aims to encourage research-oriented learning among undergraduate students and to identify high-potential talent to strengthen the JUIT research culture. The first day witnessed presentations, and prototype displays on diverse subject matters like prediction models to CRISPR based discussions, ideas to do something on breast and prostrate cancer, travel planning, and drones technologies. The common and integral part was the integration of machine learning tools – a reflection of early Interdisciplinary thinking.
The symposium serves as a dedicated institutional platform for undergraduate students to present their research work and exchange ideas with experts. The interaction of Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma – The Vice Chancellor with students made it a live learning classroom. Prof. P K Gupta, Prof. Jata Shankar, Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, and Dr. Santu Baidya also served as judges and provided feedback to students for further improvement. The event was coordinated by students’ coordinator Devansh Kalia and Abhinandit Singh and other team members.
