Thousands of unemployed youth of Himachal Pradesh are on the streets of Shimla demanding the government jobs. The unemployed youth across the state are moving towards the state secretariat holding placards with slogans in their hands.
These unemployed youth are protesting against declaring the pending results of old examinations, creating new jobs, stopping outsourced recruitment and giving jobs back to retired officers and employees.

At the same time, the cabinet meeting has started inside the state secretariat.
Unemployed youth are saying that in the assembly elections of December 2022, Congress had promised to provide 5 lakh jobs in five years. Till now, more than one and a half years have passed since the government came to power. But till now around 1400 youth have been given jobs through commission and 10 thousand posts have been filled through outsoure.
The youth say that due to the dissolution of the Staff Selection Commission, new recruitments are not being started. At the same time, the new State Selection Commission has not become fully functional. Due to which recruitments are not being started even on the posts approved by the cabinet.
He says that due to lack of recruitment, more than eight lakh youth of the state are in troubled. There are thousands of youth who are afraid of becoming over-aged.
The youth say that when Congress was in opposition, it was continuously opposing outsourced recruitment and had come to power by promising to provide permanent jobs. But now Congress itself is doing outsourced recruitment.
Unemployed youth claim that according to the information received under RTI, about 60 thousand posts are lying vacant in government departments in Himachal Pradesh. Whereas, during the assembly elections, Priyanka Gandhi had promised to fill these posts soon.
