The Municipal Council, which claims to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the city in Chamba, a famous tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh, has itself come under serious allegations. The Vigilance Department has suddenly raided the Chamba Municipal Council office and sealed many important documents. In these documents, suspicion of irregularities in the cleaning tenders held during the International Minjar Fair is being raised.
Additional Superintendent of Vigilance Department, Abhimanyu Verma said that the department had received information that there were irregularities in the cleaning contract at Minjar Fair. He said that the cleaning contract was being given to the same person continuously and many irregularities were found in it. On the basis of preliminary investigation, today the team of the department has gone to the Municipal Council office and seized all the related records and now a detailed investigation will be done.
On the other hand, senior citizen of Chamba and RTI activist Bhuvneshwar Sharma said that he had complained to the Vigilance Department regarding the scam going on in the Municipal Council for a long time. Welcoming the action of the Vigilance Department, he said that he hoped that the department would investigate the matter impartially
