Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation’s Chief Engineer Vimal Negi was mentally harassed. However, his death is not linked to the Pehkuwala project. This disclosure has been made in the 66-page administrative investigation report submitted in a sealed envelope to the government by Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Sharma in the case of Vimal Negi’s death. This report has been sent to the Chief Minister’s Office. The report is based on the interrogation of 25 people, including the corporation’s former Managing Director Harikesh Meena, former Director of Personnel and Finance Shivam Pratap Singh, suspended Director Deshraj, and the victim’s family. The needle of suspicion has also turned towards the role of a former director in the investigation report.
According to the report, Negi was suffering from mental problems. According to sources, it is written in the report that he was called to the office early in the morning and sent home late in the evening. There was a lot of work pressure on him. In the conversation with the employees in the office, it has also come to light that he was made to stand for two hours at the offices of senior officers and was made to do 12-12 hours of duty. Many times he was called back from the way. Negi joined the Shimla office only after the Pekhwala solar power project was started. Earlier he was posted in the Shongtong project. His joining is said to be in June 2024. It is noteworthy that on the day Negi’s body was recovered, the family members accused Meena and Deshraj of mental harassment. Negi went missing from Shimla under suspicious circumstances on March 10. On March 18, his body was recovered from Gobindsagar Lake in Bilaspur.
The investigation report has been opened in front of the officials in the Chief Minister’s Office. Now the officials will give detailed information about the report to the Chief Minister on returning to Shimla.
