Nestled in majestic Pir Panjal mountain range, Kaali Mandir Chanju lies about 30 kilometer off the road, at the road end in Chanju, a diversion to the left from the main Killad-Chamba road at Nakrod.
The temple lies on the trek route connecting Churah with Lahaul through treacherous Drati Pass (15500 ft, ASL).
The temple, also known as Maral Khundi Mandir, locally looked very clean and newly built. No one was at the temple, not even the priest but was very beautiful.
