On the basis of the seized records, officers, contractors and local people are being interrogated. The problems of Jal Shakti Department officials and contractors may increase due to the scam in water supply through tankers. In the investigation of the case, Vigilance has found many evidences related to irregularities.

According to Vigilance sources, contractors and Jal Shakti Department officials are giving different statements. It appears that there has been a disturbance on a large scale. Vigilance is investigating every aspect closely. The statements of officials and contractors are being matched with the seized records. A vigilance team recorded statements of local people at Rahighat, Devrighat, Bhekhalti and adjoining places of Theog. Local people were asked after how many days water was supplied through tankers during the summer water crisis. Approximately how much water was given to a family. Apart from the contractor’s personnel, were junior engineers of Jal Shakti Department accompanying the tanker or not? In this case, Vigilance has already recorded the statements of the suspended officers of Jal Shakti Department as well as contractors, tanker drivers and owners.
Last year, a scam worth crores took place in Theog in the name of water supply during the summer season. More than Rs 1 crore was paid to the contractor for supplying water through tankers. In the information taken from RTI, numbers of Scooty and Alto cars were also revealed among the vehicles used to transport water. Water supply through tenders was also shown at many places where there are no roads.
