First step into politics; promises drug-free society and cleaner ward, thanks MLA Rakesh Jamwal for support
Sundernagar (Mandi), May 4 2026:
In a significant political move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded a young candidate, 29-year-old Neha, from Ward No. 13 (BBMB Colony) in Sundernagar. Her entry marks a fresh attempt by the party to bring youth and new thinking into local governance.
Neha, stepping into politics for the first time, said she never imagined contesting elections but considers it a responsibility entrusted to her with trust and confidence. She expressed gratitude to MLA Rakesh Jamwal and the BJP organization for giving her the opportunity.
Speaking to the media after filing her nomination, Neha emphasized her commitment to serve the people of Ward 13. She stated that strengthening basic amenities, improving sanitation, and accelerating development work will be her top priorities if elected.
The young candidate has also highlighted her focus on building a drug-free society. She said awareness campaigns and collective community efforts will be key to protecting the youth from substance abuse and guiding them toward a positive direction.
In addition, Neha has pledged to make the ward clean and well-maintained, stressing that cleanliness is not just the responsibility of authorities but of every citizen.
With her candidacy, BJP aims to inject new energy into the electoral contest. Whether this youth-driven approach translates into electoral success will be clear in the coming days, but Neha’s entry has already stirred political activity in Ward 13.
