The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude for the contribution of local social worker Ratna Chand and his family.

Deputy Commissioner Chamba Mukesh Repaswal today formally inaugurated the newly constructed “Bal Vihar Kunj Library” in Gulera village, Chambi Panchayat, Chamba Development Block, by lighting a lamp. The library was established with a grant of 10 lakh rupees provided by the NITI Aayog.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner stated that this library would prove extremely beneficial not only to the local Panchayat, but also to the youth and villagers of approximately eight Panchayats. The Deputy Commissioner also mentioned the importance of education in rural areas and Gandhian ideas in other developmental projects. He stated that the library has seating arrangements for 46 people. He also stated that plans are underway to establish a girls’ home in this building in the future.
During the program, the Deputy Commissioner specifically expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ratna Chand, founder of the Swati Yadgar Trust, and his wife, Mrs. Bimla Devi. He explained that Ratna Chand donated land for the library and personally supervised the construction, which is commendable. Referring to Ratna Chand and other prominent figures in the district, he said that we should all take inspiration from their valuable efforts for public welfare and contribute to social service.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner extended his best wishes to the local people for Vijayadashami and the inauguration of the library. He urged the youth to take full advantage of the library’s facilities so that it can become a major center for knowledge enhancement.
During the programme, apart from Ratna Chand, founder of Swati Yadgar Trust, various officials also shared their views and experiences on the importance of books in education and life.
