Shimla:
BJP State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal on Wednesday accused the Congress of attempting to take false credit for development works funded by the central government, stating that road assistance worth thousands of crores provided to Himachal Pradesh is a direct contribution of the BJP-led Modi government.
Referring to the ₹200 crore Chaila–Ochghat road project, Dr. Bindal said that Congress leaders praising the project is misleading and unfair. “Instead of expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister is trying to create confusion and take undue credit,” he remarked.
Dr. Bindal said the people of Himachal Pradesh are deeply thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership massive financial assistance has been extended for road construction in remote and rural areas through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). He emphasized that every rupee sent by the Centre must be utilized honestly for the welfare of rural communities.
On behalf of the residents of Sirmaur, Shimla, and Solan districts, the BJP state president expressed special gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for approving ₹200 crore to upgrade the road connecting major agricultural and horticultural belts from Chaila to Ochghat. He also thanked Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda for their support in approving the project.
Dr. Bindal praised Shimla Lok Sabha MP Suresh Kashyap, stating that he consistently raised the demand for this road project and effectively conveyed public concerns to the central government. “It is due to BJP’s development-oriented vision that Himachal Pradesh continues to receive important infrastructure projects,” he said.
Launching a sharp attack on the Congress leadership, Dr. Bindal alleged that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are attempting to claim credit for the ₹200 crore project despite having no role in it. He further stated that the Congress-led state government has no contribution in the funds being received under PMGSY.
He said Congress leaders should acknowledge the efforts of the Prime Minister instead of indulging in credit-seeking politics. “While Congress is busy with propaganda, real development is happening due to the BJP government at the Centre,” he added.
Dr. Rajiv Bindal concluded by stating that the BJP will continue to fight for the interests of Himachal Pradesh and that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the state will keep moving forward on the path of development.
