Police Station Boileauganj has arrested a woman accused of duping a Shimla resident of ₹25 lakh on the pretext of arranging a Canada visa. The case (FIR No. 205/25 dated 21.11.2025) was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to the complaint, the accused lured the victim by promising to send her sister abroad and collected a huge amount for visa processing. After repeated raids in Punjab and Haryana and a detailed technical investigation, a special team traced and arrested the accused from Shivalik City on February 22, 2026.
Police said the accused had been changing SIM cards and using internet calls to evade arrest. Further investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to trace other persons involved in the fraud.
