Clean City-Prosperous City Programme
Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Sharma said that cleanliness is the basis of a prosperous city and 100% public participation is essential to ensure cleanliness. The Deputy Commissioner was addressing a program organized by Municipal Corporation Solan under the Clean City-Prosperous City program here today.
Manmohan Sharma said that proper and scientific management of waste is necessary to ensure cleanliness and environmental protection. Clean city-prosperous city program is important in this direction. Under the program, result-oriented initiatives will be taken for cleanliness, environmental protection and waste management.
He said that this program will prove to be a game changer in the direction of classification and segregation of waste at the place of its generation. He said that information, education and communication activities will be organized at various levels to make people aware in this direction.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a citizen service portal is also working for the convenience of the people. Initially, 9 essential services will be provided on this portal. Out of these, 7 services will be as per the needs of the citizens. Through this, many public services, including trade licenses, property tax management, complaint redressal, and booking of community places, will be available online to the people. In the future, 45 services will be provided through this platform.
He said that the government is constantly striving to make people’s lives easier and to simplify processes through innovation. In the future, monitoring will also be done through CCTV to keep Solan district clean.
The Deputy Commissioner said that various initiatives will be taken for cleanliness, environmental protection, and waste management in the urban bodies of Solan.
Mayor of Municipal Corporation Usha Sharma said that Municipal Corporation Solan has developed a comprehensive system for collecting and disposing of garbage. Modern facilities are being developed for its scientific disposal. Parking, parks, and other facilities are being expanded in urban local bodies.
