Even after strict police action in Shimla district, drug addicts are not desisting. Shimla Police has arrested 4 people in two separate cases late Thursday evening. Police have recovered 50 grams of chitta from them. And a case has been registered against the accused and investigation has been started.
Information received from police: The first case has been registered in Shimla police station Sadar. Police received secret information that they suspected that some youth in Krishnanagar might be in possession of illegal drugs. On the basis of secret information, the police raided a house and searched three people present in the house, during which the police recovered about 28 grams of chitta from them. The police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act. The accused have been identified as Prithviraj, age 46, Vijay Kumar, age 38, and Vijay Singh, age 29. All three are residents of Chidgaon in Shimla district.
The police have registered another case in Baluganj police stationHere, the special cell of the police received information that a person had a huge amount of Chitta in his flat in Ghoda Chowki area. Based on the information, the police raided the said flat and recovered 20.550 grams of Chitta from the spot. Police have arrested a person from the spot who has been identified as Deepu, aged 30 years, Anji, Tara Devi Shimla. It is reported that the person runs a vegetable shop. Police have registered a case under NDPS in both the cases and started investigation.
On the other hand, SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi confirmed the matter and said that the police have registered two cases of illegal drugs. The accused have been arrested and are being interrogated. He said that strict police action against chitta smuggling is ongoing and will continue against it in future also.
