Bhoranj, February 26:
A blood donation camp was organized at Government Degree College, Kanjayan, on Thursday, where 48 units of blood were collected. The camp was conducted by the subdivisional unit of the Red Cross Society in collaboration with the college’s Red Ribbon Club, NCC unit, and the Health Department.
The camp was inaugurated by SDM and President of the Sub-Divisional Red Cross Society, Shashipal Sharma. Addressing the gathering, he described blood donation as a noble act and the highest form of humanitarian service. He said that donating blood can help save lives and urged the youth to actively participate in such social initiatives and donate blood regularly.
He further added that such camps help spread awareness in society and strengthen the spirit of service, cooperation, and philanthropy among young people. Emphasizing the importance of voluntary blood donation, he said that every healthy individual should donate blood periodically to ensure its availability during emergencies.
Students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and local residents participated enthusiastically in the camp. Donors underwent health check-ups under the supervision of specialist doctors, and blood collection was carried out in a safe and hygienic environment following all required standards.
All donors were presented with certificates in appreciation of their contribution. The college administration thanked the Red Cross Society, medical team, and volunteers for making the camp a success and expressed its commitment to organizing similar welfare activities in the future.
