Kinnaur
Around 50 tourists are stranded here after two days of heavy snowfall in Chitkul, a famous tourist destination in the Kinnaur district. The road has been closed due to snowfall, due to which these tourists are unable to get out of their hotels and guest houses. However, even after the weather has cleared, there is a delay in restoring the road due to more than two and a half feet of snow.
The health conditions of some of these tourists have become critical. The condition of tourist Shubham Bhardwaj is said to be worrying. Due to the cold, his hands have stopped working, and he is feeling dizzy. The oxygen level of another tourist has also decreased significantly, making his condition critical.
The doctor of the local PHC has started giving treatment to both the tourists, but due to a lack of necessary medicines, their treatment is not being fully effective. These tourists need immediate high-level medical assistance, but medical supplies are also being hindered due to snowfall.
The JCB machine of the PWD department is working to clear the snow on the road beyond Raksham, but due to heavy snowfall, the work is progressing at a slow pace. Due to the accumulation of more than two and a half feet of snow in Chitkul and surrounding areas, it is taking time to restore the road, which has increased the difficulties of tourists.
