Rohru/Shimla: BJP State Media Coordinator Karan Nanda addressed a meeting of the Vidhan Sabha at the party headquarters in Kotkhai and informed about the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi’ campaigns being run by the BJP across the country on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Nanda said that the aim of this campaign is to connect every citizen with Swadeshi so that it becomes a mass movement and spreads as a national movement across the state and the country, and the message of making India self-reliant reaches every home. Swadeshi means adopting and using goods made in our country. We are not boycotting any item, but are saying that Indian products and Indian skills should be given priority.
The BJP media coordinator stated that this campaign will continue until December 25th, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that India will become a developed nation by 2047, and the path to this lies through a self-reliant India, with Swadeshi at its core. Narendra Modi has urged his 1.4 billion citizens to ensure that all goods purchased must be manufactured in India. The Prime Minister has urged citizens to purchase only those goods made in India, reflecting the hard work of our sons and daughters. Every shop should have a sign stating, “Say with pride, this is Swadeshi.” Following the call of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party National President, Honorable Jagat Prakash Nadda, has entrusted workers across the country with a comprehensive campaign to connect every person and transform this Swadeshi campaign into a mass movement.
Nanda said that in 2019, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the countrymen to adopt the mantra of “Vocal for Local.” As a result, Khadi sales have reached ₹1.7 trillion (approximately $170,000 crore), compared to a mere ₹31,000 crore (approximately $310,000 crore) during the UPA government. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Make in India,” there were only two mobile phone companies in 2014, but today, this has grown to 300 factories, and 99.2% of the country’s mobile phones are now Made in India. Mobile phone exports, which were only ₹15,000 crore (approximately $150 billion) during the UPA government, have now reached ₹2 trillion (approximately $200,000 crore). Similarly, toy imports have declined by 52%, and tractor production ranks first in the world in automobile manufacturing. India’s exports have increased in many such areas of the manufacturing sector. The countrymen have embraced the Make in India pledge and mantra, and as a result, under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy and is poised to become the third-largest. It is also noteworthy that for the past four years, India has been the world’s fastest-growing economy.
The meeting was chaired by Mandal General Secretary Ankush Chauhan, Sushil Kadsholi, Meenakshi Manta, Jatin Chauhan, Yashveer Jasta, Ravindra Chauhan, Tajinder Sharma, Sanjay Basta from the State Youth Front were present.
