In two days, 763 farmers have purchased 29,825 saplings.
The annual sale of fruit plants for gardeners continued on Tuesday at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, and at the university’s agricultural science centers and research stations. Today was the second day of the plant sale, and a large number of farmers purchased fruit plants.
The annual sale of fruit planting material continued on first come first serve basis from December 15 this year with sale of various fruit varieties from three nurseries in the main campus , Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Kandaghat , Rohru and research centres at Mashobra , Bajaura and Sharbo (Kinnaur).
On the second day, 237 farmers purchased 9,979 saplings from various nurseries. So far, 763 farmers have purchased 29,825 saplings in two days. This year , more than 180,000 saplings have been prepared by the university and regional stations. During this sale, farmers received apples , kiwis , pomegranates , apricots , peaches , nectarines , cherries , walnuts , pears , plums , and more. Various varieties of etc. are being made available.
