Arki MLA urges people to learn about welfare schemes and make use of government initiatives
Arki: Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi inaugurated and inspected development exhibitions organised by various government departments as part of the state-level Saiyar Mahotsav.
Addressing people at the event, Awasthi urged them to visit the exhibitions and gather information about welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented by the government. He encouraged people to make maximum use of the benefits available under these schemes.
Exhibitions were organised by the departments of Horticulture, Agriculture, Health and Family Welfare, Social Justice and Empowerment, AYUSH and Forest, along with the National Rural Livelihood Mission through self-help groups. The Home Guard also put up an exhibition showcasing disaster-management initiatives.
The Health and Family Welfare Department organised a baby show, in which 32 children aged between zero and three years participated. Of these, 26 were placed in the green zone and six in the yellow zone following the assessment.
Several sports competitions are also being held as part of the festival, including men’s kabaddi, badminton and chess.
Under the Nutrition Campaign of the Women and Child Development Department, the chief guest also participated in an Annaprashan ceremony for children and a baby shower ceremony for pregnant women.
A wrestling competition was also inaugurated during the celebrations.
