A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Ayal Panchayat of Churah area of Chamba district. Here a bear attacked an innocent girl and killed her. 11-year-old Aisha Begum, daughter of Jamal Din, resident of village Chuhali, was going to the forest with her friend to graze goats. When both of them reached just 500 meters from the village, a bear pounced on Aisha Begum and picked her up and took her away. After some time, the bear came to the same place again, but by then the other girl had hidden in the bushes out of fear, due to which her life was saved.
The family came to know about the incident when the uncle of the deceased girl, who was passing by that way, heard the screaming of the other girl. After this, the family and villagers were called to the spot and the search for the girl began, but they found the girl dead in a bloody condition. There was a lot of screaming at the spot. After this, the body of the girl was brought home. The girl had suffered serious head injuries in the bear attack. The parents are crying inconsolably. The whole family is in deep shock. There is a wave of grief in the area as well. The incident is said to have happened 3-4 days ago. However, the family has not registered a police case in this regard.
The villagers say that the man-eating bear is coming straight to the houses, due to which it has become difficult for them to go out of the house. The bear is destroying their maize crop and has also started causing loss of life. The villagers say that if the bloody bear is not caught soon, then the bloody bear can make other people its prey as well.
Villagers Ghulam Rasool, Tajdin, Hussain, Majeed, Rehmatullah, Latif, Abbas, Gandaru, Hanifa and Shamali have demanded from the administration that the man-eating bear should be caught soon, so that their safety can be ensured. Let us tell you that the villagers go to the forests every day for their daily work, to collect dry wood and to graze the cattle, due to which it is very important to catch the bear in view of their safety. The villagers are taking precautionary measures to avoid bear attack. Ayal Panchayat head Shukrudin has demanded the administration to catch the man-eating bear.
