Shimla, March 23
In a shocking incident near Mashobra in Shimla, two persons have been arrested for allegedly attacking Aryan Chauhan, son of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s media advisor Naresh Chauhan.
According to police sources, the incident occurred when Aryan Chauhan was returning from a hotel late at night. A vehicle reportedly approached from the wrong side and intercepted his car. Soon after, two masked individuals stepped out—one allegedly carrying a pistol-like object and the other armed with an iron rod.
Sensing danger, Aryan managed to escape by jumping down a hillside, sustaining minor injuries to his leg. He was later provided medical assistance and is said to be out of danger.
Police have registered a case and launched a swift investigation. The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered, and two accused have been taken into custody. Officials said that further interrogation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
The incident has raised serious concerns due to the victim’s connection with the Chief Minister’s office, with authorities treating the case as a possible pre-planned assault.
Senior police officials stated that security aspects are also being reviewed, and more arrests could follow as the probe progresses.
