Bada Dev Kamarunag has received an invitation from the district administration for the historic Mahashivratri Festival (Jatar) of Mandi district. On Tuesday, SDM Gohar Laxman Singh Kanet himself reached Dhangyara Galu, the original site of Kamarunag and he handed over the invitation sent by the district administration to the deity’s Gur Devi Singh Thakur and Katwal Kahan Singh Thakur. Katwal Kahan Singh Thakur of the deity said that the deity has got an invitation. After receiving the invitation, the Bada Dev’s Kardars and the temple committee have started preparations to go to Shivaratri. The committee of the deity will soon decide when they will depart.
Let me tell you that it has been a tradition for centuries that Shivaratri fair does not begin without the arrival of Bada Dev Kamarunag. The deity will settled the devotees as soon as they leave for the Shivaratri fair. During the mandi Mahashivratri fair stay, the deity and his Devalu’s walking on the night, along with the night, afternoon and night guests, the outline of Nawaji is prepared first. In a day or two, the Deity Committee will meet and decide the day of departure to Mandi Shivaratri.
The district administration tightens the success of the fair
