Kullu: Bajantris and other groups associated with Dev culture will receive greater recognition and improved facilities during the Kullu Dussehra festival, Sunder Singh Thakur, president of the International Kullu Dussehra Festival Committee and local MLA, said while addressing a meeting of the Devbhoomi Bajantri Kalyan Sangh.
Thakur said the assistance provided to Bajantris was not merely financial support but a mark of respect for their dedication and contribution to the region’s rich religious and cultural traditions.
To simplify the process, the tehsildar and administrative team are helping beneficiaries complete the required forms on the spot. The distribution of the incentive amount began on Friday, enabling beneficiaries to receive the assistance during the Dussehra festival.
Outlining the future plans, Thakur said arrangements would be made from next year to provide the amount on the opening day of the festival. He also announced that the approved financial assistance would be extended to other groups associated with Dev culture.
At the meeting, Devbhoomi Bajantri Kalyan Sangh president Mehar Singh welcomed the chief guest and congratulated him on the decisions aimed at supporting the Bajantri community.
ADM Surjeet Singh Rathore and Tehsildar Anil Kumar were also present on the occasion.
