Una, Himachal Pradesh:
Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Una District, organized two impactful programs on Tuesday aimed at inspiring youth and women towards self-employment, self-reliance, and the vision of a self-reliant India. The initiatives focused on translating Swadeshi ideology into practical economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
District Full-timer Satya Dev Sharma Sahod informed that the first program was held at the District Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Una, where around 70 trainee students participated in a comprehensive workshop on entrepreneurship and self-reliance. The keynote address was delivered by Regional Organization Minister Vinay Sharma.
Addressing the students, Vinay Sharma emphasized that today’s youth must aspire to become job creators rather than mere job seekers. He highlighted the importance of technical education combined with entrepreneurial thinking, start-up culture, small and cottage industries, and the promotion of indigenous products. He said strengthening the production and use of Swadeshi goods reinforces self-reliance at individual, societal, and national levels. He encouraged students to explore local resources and establish enterprises rooted in indigenous innovation.
The second program, a women’s seminar, was organized at Mahila Mandal Bahdala, witnessing enthusiastic participation from approximately 42 women. During the seminar, Vinay Sharma underlined the vital role of women in nation-building through economic independence. He spoke about the significance of self-help groups, home-based and cottage industries, handicrafts, food processing, and promoting indigenous products.
He stated that when women become self-reliant, families and society at large grow stronger. He urged participants to recognize their inherent skills, organize through self-help groups, and actively contribute to the mission of building a self-reliant India.
Participants at both events described the sessions as inspiring, practical, and timely. The organizers expressed confidence that such initiatives would significantly contribute to empowering youth and women across the district.
The district unit of Swadeshi Jagran Manch also announced that similar awareness, training, and motivational programs will continue in various parts of Una to connect every section of society with the Swadeshi and Self-Reliant India campaign.
Among those present were ITI Principal Anshul Bhardwaj, former District Council President Balbir Bagga, Mahila Mandal Bahdala President Praveen Rana, former Panchayat Head Sandhya Devi, Deputy Head Suresh Kumar, Shilpi Soni Sumit, and several local women participants.
