· Urges youth to learn from Freedom Fighters
Governor Kavinder Gupta today paid floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas and bowed in reverence to their supreme sacrifice for the nation.
A tribute meeting was held at Lok Bhavan to honour the brave martyrs. Officers and staff paid their respects and a two-minute silence was observed in their memory.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that the lives and sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru continue to inspire young people to serve the nation with courage and dedication. He said their values of patriotism, social justice and unity are still relevant today and should be followed in daily life.
The Governor said that these revolutionaries sacrificed their lives for the country and played a key role in India’s freedom and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Shri Gupta also spoke about his personal connection to Bhagat Singh’s legacy. He said that he had worked with his nephews in the social sector. He shared that his father served in Ferozepur and he used to visit the Hussainiwala National Martyrs Memorial every year on March 23 during the annual fair.
The Governor said that the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 can be achieved only if every citizen contributes to nation-building. He urged people, especially the youth, to take inspiration from the martyrs and serve the nation with sincerity, discipline and dedication.
Later, the Governor interacted with staff of Lok Bhavan and asked them to work sincerely to maintain the dignity of the institution. He also said he would regularly meet staff to understand their concerns and ensure timely solutions.
