The former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition said that in the first phase of the elections itself, the BJP-supported Pradhan and Up-Pradhan candidates registered a historic victory in about 75 percent of the Panchayats in the state.
He said, the public has now understood the truth well that if the village and the region have to be truly developed, then they will have to move ahead with the BJP.

In Seraj, the BJP performed exceptionally well in the first phase, winning 25 of the 28 Panchayats in the region, while the Congress had to settle for just two. Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support and blessings of the enlightened people of Seraj, Jai Ram Thakur said that the Seraj region, which has suffered numerous natural calamities, will be rebuilt with strength, working together with all the newly elected representatives. He thanked the people of the state for this resounding mandate and appealed for similar support for the second phase of Panchayat elections to be held on Thursday.
The Leader of the Opposition launched a scathing attack on the current Congress government, stating that it seized power by lying and misleading the public, but after coming to power, it has completely halted development work in the state. The public has now fully understood that for real development in villages and regions, they must move forward with the BJP. He expressed full confidence that the BJP is sure to form the government again in the state in the near future, and with the strong support of the central government, the wheels of development in Himachal will move forward at the speed of a “double engine.” He said that the Chief Minister knew that the election results would not be in the Congress party’s favor, so he did not hold the elections on time, and now an additional six months have passed. The development that should have taken place in the Panchayats during this period has been stalled due to the stubbornness of the Congress government and the Chief Minister. While the central government has been providing continuous assistance, this government has delayed delivering it to the people.
Additionally, in another significant political development, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur criticized the Congress party, citing recent remarks by the Supreme Court. He stated that the country’s top court has made it clear that the Special Intensive Review (SIR) is a legal, legitimate, and fully constitutional process. Following this significant Supreme Court decision, the Congress party’s so-called anti-constitutional face has been completely exposed before the people of the country and the state. Until now, the Congress party had been deceiving the country solely for the sake of petty vote bank politics and attempting to gain unfair advantage in elections by using infiltrators. But now, this politics of appeasement and deception will no longer work in the country and the state.
