Shimla, 08 October
The Association of the Visually Handicapped has been sitting on a dharna near Kali Bari in Shimla for a long time with their demands. But once again today, the association has also protested outside the secretariat and accused the state government of giving false assurances.
State President of the Visually Handicapped Association, Sobu Ram said that the visually impaired people have been sitting on a dharna for their demands for about a year, but the government is ignoring their demands. He said that “The Chief Minister held talks four to five times, during which the CM talked about starting the recruitment process within 15 days but nothing has been done even after four months.
Sobu Ram alleged that the Chief Minister is not taking their demands seriously, due to which the officers are also ignoring their problems. He clarified that till their demands are not met, they will continue to sit on the dharna.
Let us tell you that the Association of the Visually Handicapped has been sitting on a dharna in Shimla for the last 348 days and is demanding to fill the backlog posts of the visually handicapped quota lying vacant in the departments simultaneously.
