An industrial visit to MOREPEN LABORATORIES in Baddi was an enriching experience, offering insights into various aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations.
Morepen Laboratories was established in Mysore in 1984 and Baddi area, it started in 1998. The visit began with an overview of the company, its history, mission, and values. This introduction covered the company’s areas of specialization, its market presence and its contributions to the pharmaceutical industry. The students were taken on a guided tour of the manufacturing facility.
Mr. Praveen Sharma (AGM) showed the deducting area, which includes the industrial cleaning of granules, generally using some form of the pneumatic separation system. Then the raw material is kept in the quarantine area, approved by Q.C. and finally, analysis is carried out on RFA (request for analysis). In batches, these raw materials are placed in a solvent recovery plant (SRP), where impurities are separated with the help of an electrical supply. Then after reactions and separation of layers, crystallization and centrifugation are done. With the application of API technology, optimum temp and humidity are maintained, and final processing is carried out in a controlled system with no impurity. Mr. Sharma explained everything in detail and there was a healthy interactive atmosphere. Students also visited the Q.C. department, where they explored HPLC, GC,UV Spectroscopy etc.
Such industrial visits are beneficial for the students from a practical point of view and bring positive change in their thinking after having such real life experiences. They felt grateful for organizing such informative visits which are crucial for development and enhancement of practical skills. Overall, an industrial visit to Morepen Laboratories Private Limited in Baddi promises to be an educational and insightful experience, offering valuable exposure to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and its operations.
