Baddi/Solan, 30 December 2024
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Parwanoo Branch Office organized a licensee meet for large and medium-scale industries on 30 December 2024 at Hotel Legend Sarovar Portico, Baddi, to mark its 78th Foundation Day. The event was attended by around 100 participants from various industries. Rajeev Agarwal, President, BBN Industry Association, Baddi, was the Chief Guest of the event. R L Satya, Executive Head, BBN Industry Association, Baddi, and Dr. Upinder Pal Singh, Director, CIPET Baddi, were also present at the event.
The event started with the welcome address by S C Naik, Head, BIS Parwanoo Branch Office. Shri S C Naik spoke about the importance of the quality of Indian standards in daily life. He also emphasized the role of stakeholders in the development of Indian standards.
Chief Guest Rajeev Agarwal encouraged all the people in the industry to adopt more and more Indian standards for product certification. He also informed us that product certification ensures safety, quality, and performance requirements of the product, which meets customer satisfaction.
Shiv Prakash, Joint Director, BIS Parwanu Branch Office, spoke about the future of standardization in the country, conformity assessment for a strong quality culture, demand creation for quality and standards, and digital solutions. He also demonstrated the use of the BIS Care App for checking the authenticity of BIS-certified products. All the participants actively participated in the program and gave valuable feedback and suggestions on Indian Standards.
