A tragic road accident occurred late last night in the Jubbal area of Shimla district. A Maruti-800 car lost control and fell into a deep ditch on the Dakehar Road, killing the driver on the spot. Eyewitness Sachin Chauhan said he received information about a car accident near Dakehar Road. When he arrived at the scene, he found a Maruti-800 car lying about 200 feet below the road.
Checking the car’s number plate, it was found to be CH-04B 3113. A man was found dead inside the car, identified as Sanjeev Sonal, a resident of Himri, Tehsil Kotkhai, Shimla district. Police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination.
Police say the cause of the accident is being investigated. Initially, the car is suspected to have lost control, although the exact cause will only be known after the post-mortem report and investigation.
